Sponsors 18th Annual Little Keswick Day for Special Children Charity Golf Tournament

The Little Keswick Foundation for Special Education extends its heartfelt thanks to the Keswick community for its tremendous support of the 18th Annual Little Keswick Day for Special Children Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, May 3rd at Keswick Club. The Foundation was pleased to introduce first time Tournament Sponsor, Virginia Eagle Distributing Company as well as Ken and Ceil Wheeler for their leadership support of the event. Net proceeds from the tournament provide scholarship monies for students served by Little Keswick School.

The Foundation hosted one hundred and twenty-six golfers as well as numerous volunteers and sponsors. Special thanks goes to The Helen I. Moorehead Laurencin Foundation, Advanced Dental Care/Ed Akeel, BIO-CAT, Inc., PBM Products/Paul Manning, Pepsi-Cola of Central Virginia and our media sponsor, The Charlottesville Newsplex. In addition to Virginia Eagle, other new sponsors for this year included US Joiner, LLC/David and Jayne Rathburn, Colonial Auto Center, Aqua-Clean Pool Service, Luck Stone, Roanoke Cement/Titan America, Wells Fargo/Jim Neligan, Albemarle Dermatology Associates and TOPEKA’S Steakhouse. Proceeds from the tournament were approximately $54,000.00.

Tournament play was competitive and close with the first place foursome scoring 58 by team members Jim Quisenberry, John Jones, Jeff Shriver and Jay Wyant. Second place was taken by a Virginia Eagle foursome with Scott Roth, J.R. Hadley, Andrew Watson and Scott Wawner participating. The third place team consisted of Rob Roll, Don Gibson, Dave Roll and Ken Lloyd. Contest winners included Snookie Wawner, Bobby Ballard, J.R. Hadley, Cato Laurencin, Mark Eigenbrode and Jim Stockton.

The Foundation wishes to express its thanks to all involved and especially to Virginia Eagle and to Keswick Club for a successful day benefiting special-needs children. Save the date now for next year’s tournament which will take place on Monday, May 2, 2011.
